It’s not just for rich people.

Ask yourself this: How many times have you gone to the grocery store with every good intention, loaded up the cart, hauled it all home, put it all away, and by the end of the week thrown out most of it?

How much did that cost?

Add to that the price you paid for replacement meals . . . fast food, or restaurant service (with tip) on those nights when you were too tired, too hungry, or too hurried to cook healthy meals?

Think about the nutritional value of the fast food you eat on the run, or standing up over the sink because you’re just too hungry or too tired to take the time to sit down for dinner.

Our busy lifestyles often cost more than just money. Ultimately our health and our peace of mind are at risk. How much is that worth to you?

A personal chef will:
  • Plan healthy gourmet meals
  • Submit them to you for approval
  • Do the shopping
  • Deliver everything to your home
  • Cook the meals in your home (while most clients are at work)
  • Clean the kitchen
  • Leave you with an assortment of fresh and frozen prepared meals, side dishes, and desserts.

Surprisingly affordable!

When we sit down together and figure it out, for most families the cost of a personal chef is comparable to what they’re currently spending eating out. Most families find that the time and nutritional value they gain by using a personal chef is not only dollar-for-dollar comparable, the added quality of life is actually priceless.

Personal chefs typically work for a fee-for-service plus the cost of groceries. The final invoiced amount depends on the number of meals ordered, and the fluctuating cost of groceries.

Because there are so many variations of service plan and menu options it may seem complicated at first, but as a rough example, it works out something like this:

5 X 4 (Five prepared meals for 4 people) $365.00 plus groceries

4 X 4 (Four prepared meals for 4 people) $335.00 plus groceries

5 X 2 (Five prepared meals for 2 people) $249.00 plus groceries

3 X 2 (Three prepared meals for 2 people) $195.00 plus groceries

Meals include a main course and one substantial side dish. Fresh salads, soups, or additional sides can be ordered a la carte.

Each fee includes the free initial consultation plus planning, shopping, delivering, preparing, appropriately arranging for storage, and providing you with clear instructions for reheating and serving each item. There may be a one-time charge for containers depending on what we decide together for storage.

A La Carte Options . . .

There is also an a la carte menu option that allows you to choose main-dish soups, stews, casseroles, and salads in any combination. Each choice will serve 8, but can be packaged for serving any number of ways. For single people this is sometimes the best option. For instance, one soup of 8 servings can be frozen in 4 two-cup servings for 4 meals over a month’s time. For families, a casserole can be divided to serve 4, twice in one month.

Endless Choices, Endless Possibilities!

We always suggest seasonal menu items, but if there is a family favorite you want, we are happy to make it for you. We encourage you to “shop” selected sites on the web – maybe look up the recipe from that cooking show you watched last week. Or check your favorite “foodie” magazines for menu ideas. We encourage you to look for new healthy meals you want to try.

Green Gourmet also offers a full line of lovingly prepared dessert items: cookies and cakes, pies and cheesecakes, custom-made ice creams, sorbets, and gelatos.

We will work with you each week, every other week, or once a month to make sure we meet all your home cooking expectations. These can include special dietary considerations; exciting variety; local, organic, and seasonal specialties; excellent nutritional value; and frugal shopping to make sure you get the very best quality and value for your grocery dollar.

2008 --- Special Offer! Start the year right!

We currently offer a 15% discount on chef’s fees for all cook dates booked through March 2008. That means you could save 15% for an entire year of meals by booking your dates no later than March 30th! (I’d love to scream something like, “Operators on duty! Hurry! Act now! Supplies are limited!” But, well, there’s just us . . . so call if it makes sense for you.)
